We are looking for a Plant Operator who wants to make an impact and join the Clyde family!

The Position

 Are you a hard worker that isn't afraid to get dirty at work? As Plant Operator, you'll spend your time performing essential functions that help the plant operate and ultimately allow us to get our products into our customer's hands. 

These tasks include, but are not limited:

  • Plant opening and closing responsibilities
  • Unload railcars
  • Problem solving and diagnosis
  • Operate a railcar mover as needed
  • Scale railcar ladders
  • Work from heights to lance and empty railcars
  • Performing basic maintenance and repair of the plant and its equipment
  • Inspect and perform railcar repairs (depending on severity)
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
  • Site clean-up
  • Other task around the plant as assigned

  • CDL or knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules

Job Description

FUNCTION: Under the direction of Plant Manager, Plant Operator preforms railcar unloading, truck loading, and other plant work as instructed.

 

REPORTING TO: Plant Manager

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values;
  • Operate the truck loading system and rail unloading system in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Operate a rail car mover as needed following safety measures;
  • Participate in plant safety walkthroughs and inspections;
  • Conduct equipment inspections;
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment;
  • Maintain a safe work environment;
  • Communicate with plant supervisors to accomplish the daily work plan; and
  • Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly;
  • Works well with others; and
  • Able to lead by example.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience organizing and leading the work;
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience;
  • Operate railcar mover experience preferred;
  • Mechanically inclined;
  • CDL or knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules;
  • Mechanical plant maintenance preferred;
  • Rail experience;
  • Experience in safety sensitive positions preferred; and
  • Experience with railcar and truck unloading equipment preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move up to 30 - 50 lbs. repetitively;
  • Frequent bending, standing, lifting, climbing, scaling, and ongoing physical activity; and
  • Regular exposure to outdoor elements.
