Job Description Summary

The general utility will flow to work performing sanitation duties, line inspections and rework. This includes line break sanitation activities, removing stagnant product from equipment, mixing and handling chemicals, and end of cycle cleaning. The general utility will flow through position and inspect raw and finished product looking and removing any foreign material and product quality defects. Rework finished cased product meeting hourly/daily targets through bag blending, opening and removing bags from cases and blending to line or to a tote across all lines.

Job Description

  • Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning agentsandtheir uses,understand how tomixchemicals,identifyhazardsand first aid proceduresassociated with chemicals.

  • Clean equipmentusing establishedstandard operating proceduresusing manual cleaning, use ofhigh-pressurehoses, ladders, airhosesand hot water units.

  • Remove cases from pallets and reworkingproductthrough bag blending, reworking to totes or sorting out cases from the pallet.

  • Manually inspect raw and finished product for any foreign material,excess vine or qualitydefectsremoving any defective product and disposing.

  • PerformFirewatchduties as needed.

  • Maintain asafe and clean workenvironment.

  • Activelyparticipatein Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree Preferred.

Skills andExperience:

  • Must be able to communicate,comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).

  • Must be able to pass both practical performance and written sanitationexam.

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Ability tolift upto40pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop,shovel,twist and turn frequently.

  • Ability to wear sanitationsuitin environments that vary from hot to cold temperature.

  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hottoocold in temperature.

  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movementsrequiredforjob actions andprocedures.

  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.

  • Requires manual dexterity, overallcoordinationand good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.Ability tooperatework related equipment

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, oils,smellsand allergens.

  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.

  • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.

  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
