THE ROLE: The Inside Sales Account Representative will handle phone, fax and e-mail inquiries in regards to entering orders, helping customers with their application(s) to determine what their product requirements may be, stock availability, open order status, shipment availability, open order status, shipment history status, etc. Must keep the Sales Force advised of what is happening in their particular territory. Handle all debit/credits in a timely manner.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Receive calls from customers, salesmen and service centers regarding orders, inquiries regarding delivery and shipping dates, additions and deletions on orders, item availability requests,
  • Receives calls placing emergency quick ship orders for customers.
  • Edits and coordinates all incoming orders before and after shipment Verifies accuracy and completeness of Bill To and Ship To address, product specifications, customer's special instructions; verify promised shipments made on time; notify management of missed shipping dates,.
  • Communicates with customers and service centers regarding stock status, delivery and non-stock items and order status; quotation requests are processed to the customer's specification and in the time allowed.
  • Handles communications and general correspondence with customers, salesmen and service centers.
  • Special projects and general office duties as required.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
  • Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see employees on a daily basis.
  • Must be positive team contributor who works well with all team members.
  • Participate in training activities, both on and off site
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma plus relevant Customer Service work experience.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree desired,.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Oracle based system experience desired.
  • Strong math skills.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
