Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Plant Logistics Specialist directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Plant Logistics Specialist, you will oversee and facilitate our company's supply chain operations. You will be the one to coordinate personnel and processes to achieve the effective distribution of goods. You will also be responsible for processing orders and overseeing the cycle of order fulfillment and ensuring supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Gathers quotes and analyzes transportation and logistics plans to support project-defined schedules.
  • Completes customs documentation forms with designated carriers, brokers, and forwarders.
  • Provides information regarding industry requirements to assist with negotiations and transportation contracts.
  • Communicates status of deliveries, and shipments, to production facilities.
  • Monitors cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
  • Creates Commercial Invoices / Packing List.
  • Creates requisitions within the ERP system.
  • Applies cost-benefit analysis techniques.
  • Leverages mathematical skills to identify or analyze problems.
  • Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks, and service agreements.
  • Stays informed of technological advances and apply appropriate technology to improve logistics processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience (3-5 years) required.
  • 2+ years in transportation planning/project cargo (preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand scopes of work and MSA contracts.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations for different countries and compliances.
  • Experience working with cost models and/or performing cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of JDE or SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Strong process focusses and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international and domestic transportation documentation requirements.
  • Excellent oral, written, organization, and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in MS office applications (i.e.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability/experience working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish or German is a plus.
