Merchandising Team Lead

This is an exciting chance to join a retail merchandising team where we are bringing high-quality nut products across Canada. We're looking for a Merchandising Team Lead to oversee independent contractors in your region as they showcase Tasty Joe's Nuts and other bulk nut products within a big box grocery store.

You'll hit the ground running by recruiting, training, and coaching your team, ensuring our brand standards and merchandising strategies shine in every store. We want someone who can bring energy, creativity, and a knack for building great relationships-both with contractors and store staff. 1. Team Management & Leadership

  • Oversee Independent Contractors: Support the recruiting process, train, and manage a team of independent contractors to execute store visits and merchandising tasks.
  • Accountability: Ensure your team meets all outlined responsibilities, holding both them and yourself to high standards of performance.

2. In-Store Merchandising & Execution

  • Bulk Section Maintenance: Maintain clean bulk sections, accurately order products, and keep shelves full at all times.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Keep sufficient backroom stock of fast-moving SKUs, utilizing sales data to optimize product selection.
  • Full-Service Requirements:
  • Fill bulk sections, gondolas, and other areas with available inventory.
  • Provide full service and maintenance of flowers (potted plants, tropicals) at each assigned store.
  • Handle seasonal tasks, such as audits of Intuit Turbo Tax displays across various retail banners.
  • Planogram & Pricing Compliance: Ensure all products are merchandised according to client expectations-fully stocked, properly priced, and in compliance with planograms.

3. Relationship Building & Store Engagement

  • Store Engagement: Develop strong relationships with store management and staff to drive sales and secure incremental displays.
  • Coverage & Support: Step in to provide in-store coverage if there is a vacancy in contractor scheduling.
  • Exception Report Follow-Up: Review and address any missed calls or merchandising inconsistencies.
  • Store Visits: Visit stores daily to evaluate conditions, provide guidance, and address any issues on the spot.

4. Reporting & Analytics

  • Data Analysis: Leverage sales data to optimize SKU selection and improve merchandising strategies.
  • Reporting: Generate and interpret sales reports, providing insights to the wider team and making data-driven decisions to maximize results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and share best practices across your region.
