Job Description:

The Category Management Analyst is responsible for supporting the Retail Strategy Manager in the execution of strategic plans to drive sales growth, profitability, and overall performance for Wine Rack and assigned retail banners. This role focuses on optimizing pricing, promotions, assortment, and placement strategies by banner/channel to align with corporate goals and meet customer needs, while leveraging data-driven insights to maximize category potential. This role collaborates with internal teams to ensure plans are aligned to corporate objectives and leads the team through executional excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute promotional strategies for assigned grocer banners that align with overall business objectives, driving market share, sales and profitability

  • Leverage data and insights in partnership with the Strategy team to enhance pricing, promotional, and placement strategies for assigned grocery banners and digital channels

  • Drive cross-functional program execution, ensuring timely delivery, alignment with strategic priorities, clear performance metrics, and operational excellence

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure optimal inventory levels and product availability that support in-store initiatives

  • Support the Retail Strategy Manager in assortment optimization analysis, planogram design, and execution of in-store merchandising initiatives to enhance shopper experience and drive financial performance

  • Track financial performance, market trends, and customer insights to support strategic planning and growth across grocer banners. Adapt plans to changing market and consumer dynamics to drive sales, market share and profit

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail strategy and category management, with preferred sales development experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent relationship management experience

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving category growth and profitability and delivering results.

  • 2-3 years of experience in category management, buying, or retail analytics
