Job description

Concrete SuperintendentPosition Summary

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to lead and manage field operations across one or multiple projects. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality concrete construction through strong leadership, detailed planning, clear communication, and disciplined execution.

The Concrete Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, overseeing crews, coordinating resources, maintaining schedules, and ensuring accountability at every level of the project. This individual plays a critical role in developing Foremen and crews while creating organized, productive jobsites that consistently deliver successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-oriented, and capable of leading teams in fast-paced construction environments while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and professionalism.


Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
  • Lead Foremen and field crews through consistent communication, visibility, accountability, and example
  • Establish and maintain a culture focused on safety, professionalism, teamwork, and performance
  • Manage multiple crews, phases of work, and jobsite activities simultaneously
  • Hold Foremen accountable for planning, production, safety, quality, reporting, and communication
  • Train, mentor, and develop Foremen and crew members to strengthen leadership within the organization
Planning & Scheduling
  • Own and manage short-term project planning, including daily plans, weekly work plans, and three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Ensure work is properly planned before execution and proactively remove obstacles impacting production
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors to support project success
  • Build, maintain, and adjust field schedules to protect milestones and critical path activities
  • Anticipate project risks and communicate issues early to prevent delays or disruptions
Field Operations & Execution
  • Oversee concrete operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications
  • Monitor productivity and labor performance while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Reduce downtime, eliminate unnecessary rework, and maintain organized jobsite operations
  • Ensure crews have the information, tools, materials, and support needed to execute the work successfully
  • Support accurate field reporting, documentation, and communication with Project Managers and leadership
Quality & Safety
  • Enforce company safety standards and ensure compliance with all jobsite safety requirements
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure all work meets contract documents, specifications, and company standards
  • Identify and resolve quality concerns early before they impact schedule or cost
  • Promote clean, organized, and professional jobsites

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Concrete Superintendent or similar construction leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, sequencing, and field operations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple crews and complex projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, productivity tracking, and coordination
  • Ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
