Job description

SUMMARY: Create and maintain schedules for NicePak’s liquid fill formula and finished goods production.  This includes using SAP, Excel, and BI reports to review demands and create formula plans, formula orders, and finished goods orders.  This role will identify when production plans need to change and work with the necessary teams to enact those changes.

Essential Functions

  1. Behavior:  Exhibit team player qualities of cooperation and coordination; professional interaction in all business contacts, all day, every day.
  2. Attendance:  Present for work when scheduled is a mandatory function.
  3. Safety: Your compliance with all company safety rules procedures and guidelines is essential.
  4. Create daily and weekly Compounding schedules
  5. Communicates with the Compounding and Material Planning teams throughout the day as formula production plans are confirmed
  6. Plan and control all scheduling activities supporting assigned production lines and categories.
  7. Creates and maintains production schedules for assigned production lines
  8. Uses MRP and custom reports to ensure an accurate and efficient schedule.
  9.  
  10. Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support target OTC goals, inventory turns goals, and the inventory strategy.
  11. Level-load production lines to smooth demand spikes and seasonal impacts.
  12. Work with Material Planning and Operations daily to adjust production plans based on production performance and material supply
  13. Monitor FG weeks of supply and adjust near-term schedules according
  14. Work with Operations to schedule rework when necessary
  15. Work with Customer Service and Sales Support for stock inquiries
  16. Develops S&OP summaries for assigned production lines and categories and attend the monthly S&OP Supply meeting.
  17. Works with other department leaders to recommend, develop, and implement process changes.  This includes business processes and SAP processes and transactions.
  18. Serves as a primary back-up for other department team members.
  19. Ensures accuracy and completeness of Bills of Material, communicates recommendations for bill of material changes (such as consolidation of pack size, product conversion information, etc) to purchasing, warehouse and sales departments. 
  20. Possesses the ability to make clear and concise decisions in a fast-paced environment with NicePak’s best interest in mind.
  21. Serves as a point person for material conversions.  Possesses a complete “current state” understanding of all conversions and new products planned for assigned production lines. 
  22. Work with Production, Compounding, and Material Planning to ensure material availability and line efficiencies.  This includes supporting OEE and Lean initiatives.
  23. Is a go-to person for the daily activities within the department and provides leadership to other team members.
  24. Be available and ready to update schedules at night and on weekends when unplanned issues occur
  25. Attends meetings and communicates throughout the organization to ensure adequate information flow.
  26. Attend meetings with customers when requested by an Account Managers
  27. Offers suggestions for improvements to maximize production efficiency.

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Education:    A bachelor’s degree in a business field is desired. 

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:   APICS Certification is desired.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids:   PC, Word processor, Spreadsheet, Calculator, SAP, BI Reports, Specification data.  Standard office equipment.

Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required.  Experience in working with SAP is preferred.  Knowledge of purchasing, materials management, and Sales and Operations Planning is a plus.  Must have written and oral communication skills and computer skills.

Experience:  Three to five years of experience in a Scheduling, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Material Management, Expediting or Contract Packaging related functions.   A combination of demonstrated successful experience and training may offset education requirement.

Minimum one to two years’ experience in purchasing preferred.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Computer and related programs (Excel, Word, SAP), fax, copier, and other standard office equipment.


Physical Activities: Talking, hearing, sitting, standing, and walking.

Physical Demands / Visual Acuity: Dexterity sufficient to bend, stretch, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions; sitting for extended periods.  Close vision and ability to identify and distinguish colors required. Clarity vision at 20 inches or less.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:  Exposure to normal office environment as well as warehouse and production floor.  Will be exposed to ambient noise level in a manufacturing environment.
