Museum Mission Statement

The Mexicโ€Arte Museum is dedicated to enriching the community through education programs, exhibitions, and the collection, preservation, and interpretation of Mexican, Latino, and Latin American art and culture for visitors of all ages.

Position Description

Full-time salaried position on-site with Mexic-Arte Museum. Office hours are 9-6 Monday through Thursday and 9-5 on Fridays. Should be available some evenings and weekends for special events and receptions. The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in all aspects of fundraising, special events, grant writing, and development programs.

Development Coordinator responsibilities include:

- Grant Writing: Develop grant proposals for corporate, foundation, and public grants, management of various grant contracts, and maintenance of digital and paper grant files, as well as maintaining a calendar of due dates, to be updated weekly.

- Special Events: Assist the Special Events & Marketing coordinator in planning special events by managing ticketing, RSVPs, event sponsorship packets, and recruiting and training volunteers. Special events include, but are not limited to, opening receptions, private events, Cinco de Mayo Luncheon, Cinco de Mayo Fest, Viva la Vida Festival & Parade.

- CRM/Data Management: Own the Bloomerang donor database and mailing list. Record all gifts, interactions, and relationships. Oversee proper gift acknowledgement in print and digital materials such as newsletters, donor board, social media, and signage.

- Sponsorships: Process monetary, product, and in-kind donation requests and sponsorships for special events and receptions.

- Gifts and Donations: Cultivate new donor relationships and maintain existing ones. Support the Executive Directorโ€™s stewardship of major gifts.

- Membership: Lead recruitment, retention, cultivation, and renewals. Assist the gift shop manager with membership procedures.

- Administrative Support: Assist the Executive Director with scheduling meetings and coordinating calendars. Attend meetings with the Board of Directors and project Steering Committee and take minutes using an AI notetaker.

-Mentorship: Interview, hire, and mentor three interns per year in the grant-funded internship program. Delegate responsibilities and supervise successful project completion.

Requirements:

- Bachelorโ€™s Degree and/or Master's Deagree in Literature, English, Museum Studies, Public Administration, or related field

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Punctual, professional, and flexible in assisting in tasks outside of those listed above based on need

- Strong organizational skills to plan, implement, and administer fundraising events and programs

- Self-starter, problem solver, good attention to detail

- Proficient in CRMs and fundraising technology

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Preferences:

- Reliable transportation and valid driver license

- Two years of development/fundraising experience, grants writing, and/or event planning for a non-profit

- Spanish fluency and literacy

- Experience with Bloomerang CRM, Bloomerang Fundraising, Eventbrite, Monday.com (or other project management software)

Salary: $60,000 Annual Salary.
