POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Demand Planner is a senior level planning professional responsible for ensuring on time delivery of product by proactively managing production schedules, material availability, and MRP driven demand. This role is expected to identify and mitigate risks, mentor planners, and serve as an ERP and planning subject matter expert.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support SOP development, automation initiatives, and companywide planning standardization

Reinforce standard demand governance, data discipline, and system accountability

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to demand planning, MRP accuracy, and inventory optimization

Serve as a subject matter expert for demand planning logic, MRP behavior, and ERP transactions

Monitor demand trends and proactively communicate risks impacting inventory, lead times, and customer commitments

Challenge and correct demand driving transactions that create excess inventory, shortages, or false urgency

Review and verify the validity, accuracy, and necessity of purchase orders prior to approval within one hour of notification

Partner with Planning, Scheduling, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, warehousing, and Project Management to align demand signals with execution reality

Develop, automate, maintain, and govern standardized MRP and demand integrity reports used enterprise wide.

Identify root causes of invalid demand signals and implement permanent corrective actions

Analyze MRP outputs to identify demand distortion, material risk, and procurement misalignment

Identify, validate, and correct true versus false demand drivers including duplicate demand, incorrect pegging, timing errors, and process breakdowns

Own and govern demand integrity within the ERP system across multiple manufacturing sites

All other duties as assigned by TAS

JOB SKILLS:

  • Advanced experience with demand planning, MRP, CRP, Lean (or other waste elimination processes), and ISO 9000 (or other structured QMS) required
  • APICS CPIM certification a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Infor LN preferred), MRP logic, demand planning analytics, and data automation required
  • Committed to excellence and high standards
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of data collection systems, proficient with data analysis and evaluation
  • Proficient with PC applications, (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience working in a network environment
  • Ability to function under high stress environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take input from multiple sources and prioritize own work effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively with superiors and peers as well as with individuals both inside and outside the company.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Four-year technical degree or six years of equivalent work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience (minimum seven years).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Held a similar position within the industry
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in demand planning, material planning, or production planning within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience governing enterprise demand signals, correcting demand distortion, and driving MRP accuracy at scale.
  • Proven track record of managing schedule risk, material constraints, and system-driven planning logic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 80% to 90% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading. The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
