Job description

Purpose
This Retirement Plan Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative duties to ensure that the Company's employee retirement benefit plans (401k, 401a, Employee Stock Bonus Plan, defined benefit pension plan, and non-qualified deferred compensation plan) are appropriately managed by the Company.ย ย 
Company/Entity
  1. Actively supports the achievement of the company goals and objectives for its retirement plans by performing a variety of higher level accounting and administrative duties and responsibilities.ย ย 
  2. Collaborates across company and supports consistent technical practices.ย  Adheres to policies, procedures and standards that protect both the company's assets and employee retirement plans' assets.ย 
  3. Promotes and protects Teichert's values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment and respect of others in order to maintain a "team" spirit within the business unit and on project teams; works and cooperates with other disciplines across the Company to ensure maximum and best uses of Teichert resources.ย 
  4. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers.ย  Reflects a positive impression of the department and Company with external customers through professional interactions.
  5. Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert.

Technical/Specialty Area
  1. Acts as the primary day to day contact with the third party administrators and vendors of the Company's retirement plans.
  2. In collaboration with third party retirement plan record keepers, maintain and review records for the Company's 401k Plan, 401a Plan, Employee Stock Bonus Plan, defined benefit pension plan, and nonqualified deferred compensation plan.
  3. Periodically reconcile employer contributions, employee contributions and employee loans related to the Company's retirement plans.
  4. Perform annual allocation of profit sharing contributions to employee retirement accounts.
  5. Review and recommend changes to retirement plan governing documents as required for optimal maintenance of the plans.
  6. Coordinate and manage the annual plans' audits, financial statement preparation, 5500 review and filing process and compliance testing of the plans.
  7. Act as a resource to employees of the Company with regard to questions about the retirement plans.
  8. Research and interpret retirement plan documents as needed.
  9. Prepare and mail annual required participant notices.
  10. Collaborate with the third party providers to provide education materials and seminars to plan participants.
  11. Coordinate the annual distribution process for the Employee Stock Bonus Plan.
  12. Review allocations of contributions and earnings to participants in the Employee Stock Bonus Plan.
  13. Submit annual census data to third party administrator of Employee Stock Bonus Plan.
  14. Review and reconcile plans' forfeitures.
  15. Input into payroll system and periodically audit amounts of 401(k) deductions and loan payments.ย 
  16. Coordinates biannual retirement education sessions for the Employee Stock Bonus Plan and 401(k) plan.ย 
  17. Develops and coordinates annual videos for open enrollment.ย 
  18. Responds to Administrative Committee ad hoc requests for data or information about the plans.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.ย ย 

Experience & Industry Expertise
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of experience with employee retirement plan administration or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.ย ย ย 
  • A solid understanding of ERISA, DOL and IRS laws pertaining to employee retirement plans.

ย Specific Job Requirements
  • Must demonstrate intermediate to advanced computer software skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.ย  Must be able to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas and macros.ย  Knowledge of Crystal Reports is preferred.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$96,667-$135,333
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
