Job Description

Trusted Space is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree or higher and 10+ years’ experience to join our team. Candidates will build and automate secure, highly available cloud and containerized environments while designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that streamline deployment, testing, and configuration through infrastructure-as-code practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and automate cloud infrastructure and containerized services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), enabling high availability.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration for large-scale deployments, leveraging infrastructure-as-code and automated configuration to streamline builds, testing, patching, and delivery.
  • Harden and secure systems using DevSecOps practices or OWASP frameworks; implement and troubleshoot PKI/certificates, identity integration (e.g., Active Directory/FreeIPA), security baselines, STIG-aligned patching, and compliance controls.
  • Monitor and optimize reliability and observability (logging, metrics, tracing) across networking, OS, containers, and cloud services; diagnose complex issues affecting performance, availability, or security in classified environments.
  • Develop and maintain engineering artifacts and configuration management to ensure repeatable, well-documented operations aligned to the integrated master schedule (IMS).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years in DevOps or related experience.
  • 4+ years of experience cloud engineering, build/release automation, or orchestration.
  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience working with Java Spring framework applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines built for classified environments, and Agile methodology.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Git/GitLab, Jenkins).
  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with poly.
  • Current IAT Level II certification (examples include Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC).
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and data formats (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, XML, JSON).
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Familiarity with OWASP, STIGs, and security hardening in classified or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL), PKI/certificates, and identity services such as Active Directory or FreeIPA.
  • Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Google Cloud Architect, or Microsoft MCSE – Cloud Platform.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $200,000. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary.
