Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Finance, the Wheeling Plant Controller is the strategic financial partner for the Wheeling manufacturing facility, including financial analysis and plant control. Core responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing manufacturing variances, proposing corrective actions, and evaluating alternatives, in partnership with plant leadership and supporting departments, to optimize financial performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Generates and maintains all plant manufacturing budgets for direct labor, material yields, operating outputs and departmental spending.
  • Reviews weekly, period end operational performance reports with comments and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Responsible for Wheeling plant month end close, assists Plant Director in the monthly presentation of operating results to senior leadership.
  • Identifies opportunities to drive cost reduction across all factory and product cost pools (materials, labor, variable & fixed expenses, capital and inventory).
  • Verifies the accuracy of the value of inventory each month and monitors the adjustment being made to the inventory.
  • Maintains proper internal controls over all factory assets, including raw materials, supplies, machine parts, and capital equipment.
  • Provides guidance in the use and maintenance of JustFood ERP.
  • Responsible for the proper application of the internal control and accounting practices and policies in the factory and supporting warehouses.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA in Financial Accounting is preferred or 7 or more years of accounting experience with a minimum of two years of experience working as a Plant Controller.
  • Experience with inventory management preferred.
  • Completion of Company pre-employment screenings.
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred.

Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Pay and Benefits
The following information is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Compensation is based on experience, geographic locations, and other legally permitted factors. The expected compensation range for this role is $135,000 and $155,000. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
