Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of work experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems.
  • 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience in embedded systems, operating systems, and power processing.

Preferred qualifications:
  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with mobile phone SOCs and subsystems including CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem and wifi.
  • Experience with optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
  • Experience working with embedded processors, Android BSP, kernel, drivers.
  • Knowledge of embedded software system design.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Drive power optimizations on mobile phone SOCs.
  • Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC features and initiatives to improve power.
  • Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem and connectivity.
  • Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption. Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
  • Collaborate with Android and app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
