Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Cook/Pit Master to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality barbecue and grilled items, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation & Cooking

•Operate and maintain open pit Barbeque and other cooking equipment

•Prepare meats using specific barbecue techniques including grilling.

•Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure food safety and quality

•Prepare sides, sauces, and accompaniments according to recipes and specifications

•Maintain consistent food quality and presentation standards

Food Safety & Sanitation

•Follow all food safety protocols and health department regulations

•Maintain proper food storage temperatures and rotation procedures

•Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly

•Complete daily temperature logs and food safety checklists

Kitchen Operations

•Assist with inventory management and stock rotation

•Handle prep work during slower periods

•Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely service

•Maintain organized and efficient workspace

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

•2+ years cooking experience, preferably in barbecue/grilling

•Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper cooking temperatures

•Ability to work in hot, fast-paced environment

•Strong attention to detail and quality standards

•Reliable and punctual attendance

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Preferred

•Ability to stand for 8+ hours

•Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of supplies and equipment

•Work in high-temperature environment near open pit barbeque

•Manual dexterity for food preparation and equipment operation

SCHEDULE

•8:30am to 5:00pm Wednesday through Sunday
