Job description

Job Summary

The driver will operate a haul truck to haul various materials from the riverbed to the quarry several times per day. This position is responsible for driving safely and reporting all incidents/injuries to management.

Compensation

$31.00 - $38.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Driver will be responsible for safely driving a multi-axle haul truck
  • Haul various materials in & out of the pit area as well as throughout various plant locations
  • Ensure a safe work environment, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and pre-inspection of vehicle to assure safe operation
  • Communicate with company personnel by radio and able to work cooperatively and efficiently with others
  • Ensure that safety, environmental, OSHA, and MSHA requirements are followed
  • Enter/exit truck repeatedly throughout the day using steps and ladders
  • Haul different materials to specific locations repeatedly throughout the day
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Education

High School Diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly (using proper lifting techniques)
  • Position requires the following motions: sitting, driving, shifting gears, climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, stretching, pulling, lifting
  • Must have a valid class C driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions including hot, cold, and inclement weather
  • Ability to work in rough terrain daily with elements such as loud noise, dirt, dust, fumes, etc.
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operation areas
  • Must be willing to work an alternative work schedule, overtime and weekends as required
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team
  • Quarry, pit or construction experience helpful
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
