Star Service is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to support and lead our Plumbing Division in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role combines estimating, sales support, and project management responsibilities for commercial plumbing service, retrofit, replacement, and installation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate estimates, securing profitable work, coordinating project execution, and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial plumbing experience, excellent customer relationship skills, business acumen, leadership capabilities, and an active Louisiana Master Plumber License.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare accurate budgetary and detailed estimates for commercial plumbing service, retrofit, replacement, and installation projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, site conditions, and customer requirements to develop scopes of work and pricing proposals.
  • Perform material takeoffs, labor calculations, and cost analyses using estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
  • Develop proposals for plumbing system upgrades, tenant improvements, equipment replacements, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to support competitive and profitable project delivery.
  • Conduct customer site visits and project walkthroughs to assess existing conditions and identify project opportunities.
  • Manage plumbing installation and retrofit projects from proposal acceptance through completion and customer turnover.
  • Coordinate field labor, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and resources to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Develop project schedules, manpower plans, and procurement strategies to meet customer expectations and operational goals.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and job profitability while proactively addressing project risks and changes.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including proposals, purchase orders, change orders, permits, and closeout materials.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, facility managers, contractors, and internal service teams.
  • Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety standards, company policies, and quality requirements.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying additional service, retrofit, and replacement opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Mentor and support project coordinators, estimators, apprentices, and field personnel.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating, project management, service operations, or a combination of these areas.
  • Experience managing plumbing service, retrofit, replacement, or installation projects in occupied commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, piping systems, fixtures, equipment, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, labor productivity, scheduling, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience working within commercial service, facilities, healthcare, education, industrial, municipal, or government environments.
  • Experience with service-related project delivery, equipment replacements, plumbing renovations, and occupied-facility work.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Viewpoint, Trimble, Accubid, or similar software.
