Job description

Piping Superintendent

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Our client is a well-established mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

This position is responsible for overseeing all piping installation activities, coordinating field personnel, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day piping construction activities on assigned projects
  • Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material needs
  • Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and project schedules
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Owners to resolve field issues
  • Conduct safety meetings and enforce company safety standards
  • Monitor productivity, quality control, and project progress
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and forecasting efforts
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of piping construction experience with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or Foreman leadership role
  • Strong background in commercial, industrial, life sciences, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or mission-critical construction projects
  • Experience managing large field crews and multiple subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of piping systems including hydronic, process piping, chilled water, heating water, steam, and related mechanical systems
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
