Job description

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Responsible for compliance oversight on WBI construction projects pertaining to environmental, welding and material tracking on the jobsite and during prefabrication. Provides accurate jobsite, materials, and project completion documentation to various engineering teams at WBI Energy.

A Field Inspector, Sr. must be able to recognize and correct jobsite and pipeline compliance issues and provided corrective course of action to crew members, supervisors, engineers and contractors while maintaining project deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Field Inspector ($39.75 - $48.57 per hour)

  • A working knowledge of pipeline construction, or welding inspection pertaining to API 1104 requirements at level normally acquired through the completion of an associate’s degree with technical emphasis or equivalent experience; and
  • Four years of experience in coating application and pipeline inspection or related experience as determined by the Company.

Field Inspector, Sr. ($45.68 - $55.83 per hour)

  • A working knowledge of pipeline construction, or welding inspection pertaining to API 1104 requirements at level normally acquired through the completion of an associate’s degree with technical emphasis or equivalent experience; and
  • Six years of experience in coating application and pipeline inspection or related experience as determined by the Company.
    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
    • Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
    • Subject to the Company’s DOT Substance Abuse Testing Program.
    • Required travel: Extensive (50% +).

    Field Inspector (Additional Other Requirements):

    • Acquire AAMP Level I Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP) or equivalent within 2 years in the role.
    • Acquire certifications within first 3 years in the role:
      • Accredited Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
      • Cathodic Protection (CP) Level I or equivalent.

    Field Inspector, Sr (Additional Other Requirements): 

    • Acquire certifications within first year in the role:
      • Accredited Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
      • AMPP Level I Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP) or equivalent.
      • Cathodic Protection (CP) Level I or equivalent.
      • Obtain Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Administrator and Asbestos Inspector Certifications.
        PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

        Field Inspector:

        • Knowledge of EPA and FERC environmental requirements.
        • Cathodic protection application and installation experience.
        • AMPP, Level I Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level I).
        • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Administrator and Asbestos Inspector Certifications.

        Field Inspector, Sr.:

        • Knowledge of EPA and FERC environmental requirements.
        • Cathodic protection application and installation experience.
        • AMPP Level II Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP).
        JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
        • Ensures weld mapping job completion maps are correctly documented with x-ray numbers, welder ID, Unique Material Number, and hydro-test reports.
        • Ensures pipe is correctly coated and ready to commission.
        • Ensure pipeline valves are properly installed and commissioned.
        • Provides direction to Company and contract personnel related to construction activity environmental compliance, including erosion and sediment controls, spill response, asbestos management, and water discharges.
        • Work with warehouse and purchasing personnel to ensure proper MTR labeling and documentation on received materials.
        • Performs other tasks and special projects assigned.
