Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is currently building a pipeline of skilled and qualified candidates for the USPS Postal Central Repair Facility located in Topeka, KS due to increased growth over the coming months! The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
We are currently creating a pipeline of qualified candidates for the following positions listed below for upcoming openings over the next few months!
  • Parts Issue Supply Clerks OJT (On-The-Job-Training)
  • Shipping and Receiving Clerks OJT (On-The-Job-Training)
  • Assembly Screening Technicians OJT (On-The-Job-Training)
  • Mechanical Technicians
  • Electronic Technicians

These positions are on-site positions located in Topeka, KS and have a Monday-Friday work schedule (7:45am to 4:15pm). Employees are eligible for benefits effective their first day which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO and more!

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required (Must have resided in the U.S. for the past five years with no more than six months travel outside the U.S. during this timeframe).
  • Required skills will be obtained through a 90-day On the Job Training (OJT) program.

*Mechanical Technicians aside from a diploma or GED will require formal mechanical training from an accredited program or equivalent military training, or a minimum of two years verifiable work history experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical repairs
*Electronic Technicians, aside from a diploma or GED must have formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military training
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Physical activity may include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal
  • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection)
  • Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current

Target Salary Range
The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
