We are seeking a Prefabrication Project Manager who will be able to be part of our preconstruction and engineering team. You will be an integral part of the team that interfaces with all levels of internal project management, virtual design & construction, potential clients, and existing clients to continue to help B&K execute projects. The right candidate will be professional and represent B&K to develop deeper relationships with current customers and help us convert prospective new customers to clients.
What you'll do:
  • Evaluate design proposals, engineering plans, equipment and specifications for
    prefabrication opportunities
  • Use your experience to develop estimates as a mechanical contractor for prefabrication scopes of work
  • Provide engineering design assistance on job proposals.
  • Have the ability to take conceptual designs and narratives and develop detailed estimates. Assist the VDC team in developing model content prior to development of construction documents for proof of concept exercises.
    • Interface and work directly with all the different team members involved with the skid/module development, from Facility Owners, Engineering Consultants, General Contractors, Project Managers, VDC Managers, and fabrication foremen.
  • Verify Pipe, Valve, and Fittings required for each project and standardize material for use
    by VDC Project Managers
  • Verify compliance of all VDC drawings produced for spooling prior to sending them to spooling. Work with the Prefabrication VDC Manager and fabrication facility Superintendent to eliminate waste and drive efficiency.
  • Work with the project management and procurement team to procure and store all material related to prefabrication projects
  • Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations.
  • Assist the production facility with tracking Pipe Fabrication efficiency
  • Be creative, we are looking for an "outside the box" thinker to assist in providing solutions to complex problems.

What you'll need (minimum qualifications):
  • BS in Mechanical engineering or equivalent degree/experience required
  • Background in pipe fabrication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team Player - Responsive, reliable, and collaborative.

Nice to have:
  • Experience with Autobid software and Revit
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Lean Manufacturing Proficiency
  • Manufacturing experience
