Industry UsageDesign, installation, repair of piping systemsInstalling and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems

Effective communication with team members, ongoing safety training, and strong problem-solving skills are essential for managing these challenges. Building experience with a variety of piping systems and materials also helps Pipe Fitters adapt quickly to new projects and environments.

What is a pipefitter?

Pipe fitters are skilled tradespeople who install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems. These systems are often found in industrial, commercial, and residential settings, and can carry water, steam, chemicals, or gases. Pipe fitters use blueprints and technical drawings to plan and lay out piping systems, and they work with various materials such as steel, copper, and plastic. Their work is essential for the operation of heating, cooling, and manufacturing systems in buildings and facilities.
