Responsibilities: 

  • Weld pipe in accordance with customer needs and specifications 
  • Measure, cut, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe cutters and benders 
  • Copper Brazingand soldering 
  • Threading and assembling pipe 
  • Prepare, fabricate, fit, weld and install pipe to specifications 
  • Install valves, hangers, supports and flanges in piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications 
  • Repair leaks in all types of pipe systems 
  • Assemble, install and repair piping systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes 
  • Setup, adjust, and operate welding equipment 

Requirements: 

  • Able to position weld in field and in shop atmosphere 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial pipe welding  
  • Carbon steel stick 6G 
  • Carbon steel TIG 6G 
  • Stainless steel TIG 6G 
  • Assist in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, or hangers according to specifications 
  • Cut or bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, or mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools 
  • Assisting with the installation of piping systems 
  • Has basic brazing, and soldering experience 
  • Assist with job layout 
  • Working knowledge of all types of piping systems 
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret a written scope of work 
  • Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools 
  • Must be able to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function and safely use power tools and hand tools

  • Chauffeur LIC/Med DOT Physical (Preferred)  
  • Trailer Loading and Securing of Material (Preferred) 

Rigging Requirements: 

  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials 
  • Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings 
  • Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines  
  • Identifies common load configurations & positioning 
  • Rigger 1 training – trains on above  

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height  
  • Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment  
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally  
  • Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards  
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces  
  • Must be able to work in cold/hot environments  
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain
