Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Forklift Operator
Essential Job Functions:
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and
  • Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuel.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
Role and Responsibilities
Operate: Road grader, water truck, dump truck, backhoe, flatbed, excavator, forklift where needed know, manage, and handle bulk material for production needs
Calculate amount of material needed at all sand/rock bins in order to accurately order the correct amount of material.
Ability to operate locomotive switch engine.
Work Environment
The work environment is not climate controlled and is subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit for long hours, climb to elevated surfaces, work in hot climates, lift up to 50lbs, ability to sit, kneel, bend, lay unassisted (to perform vehicle inspections/ maintenance)
Use to wearing earplugs and other PPE – such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves and safety glasses as required.
Required Education and Experience
  • Safety operations course by EHS TPG
  • 5 - 10 years industrial heavy equipment operator experience
