This role is responsible for the installation of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage lines, in commercial construction projects. This role involves a combination of manual labor, operating equipment, and adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation:Installing and aligning pipes according to project specifications, including water, sewer, and storm drainage lines.
  • Excavation: Trenching and Shoring using manual labor and heavy equipment, ensuring proper grade and slope using levels and laser alignment tools.
  • Pipefitting:Cutting, measuring, and assembling pipes, sealing joints, and ensuring proper connections.
  • Backfilling and Compaction:Backfilling trenches and compacting earth to ensure structural stability.
  • Equipment Operation:Operating various types of heavy equipment, such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers, as well as hand and power tools.
  • Safety Compliance:Following OSHA and company safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaboration:Working with site supervisors, other crew members, and sometimes engineers and contractors.
