The Position:

We're looking for an experienced Laborer to serve as the lead laborer on an underground utility crew. This role supports pipe layers, operators, and the foreman by coordinating labor tasks, maintaining jobsite safety, and ensuring materials and workflow stay organized and efficient. The Top Laborer is a key crew member who leads by example, helps direct other laborers, and keeps day-to-day operations running smoothly. Must be able to lift 75 pounds

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

  • Class A CDL strongly desired.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

  • Must be punctual and dependable.

  • Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.

  • Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.

  • Member of a Local Laborer Union, or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment.

  • 3-5 years road construction laborer experience required.

  • Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer pipe and manholes.

  • Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and sloping is preferred.

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
