This position operates within a digitally driven fabrication workflow, utilizing BIM-generated spool drawings from platforms such as Revit and Stratus. In addition to pipe fabrication, this role contributes to the assembly and installation of components such as valves, flanges, grooved systems, mechanical couplings, and specialty fittings. The Pipe Fitter / Welder may also assist in building mechanical equipment skids, copper headers, pipe racks, and other prefabricated assemblies that are delivered as complete systems to the field. This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople who take pride in craftsmanship and want to work with modern fabrication technology in a clean, organized manufacturing environment-not constantly in the field. Our shop is built around advanced equipment and digital workflows that improve precision, efficiency, and weld quality while producing high-standard prefabricated piping systems and mechanical assemblies. With consistent shop work, structured production schedules, and long-term growth opportunities, this position offers stability and the chance to be part of building one of the most advanced mechanical fabrication operations in North America.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School or GED. Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) are a plus
Experience:3+ years experience fitting, fabricating, and welding piping systems using stainless steel, copper, and carbon steel. Experience working in a mechanical fabrication shop or manufacturing environment producing prefabricated piping systems or equipment skids. Experience reading and interpreting piping isometrics, spool drawings, and BIM-generated fabrication drawings.
Preferred: Proficiency in TIG welding with experience in MIG, stick welding and copper brazing processes. Familiarity with modern fabrication equipment including pipe positioners, automated saws, beveling tools, and CNC pipe processing machinery. Hands on experience with pipe layout, measurement, cutting, beveling, fit-up, and assembly of pipe spools.
Travel: 0-25%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fit, fabricate, and assemble piping systems using stainless steel, copper, and carbon steel.
  • Perform TIG welding, MIG welding, and copper brazing in accordance with shop procedures and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret piping isometrics, spool drawings, and BIM-generated fabrication drawings.
  • Layout, measure, cut, prep, and assemble pipe spools and mechanical assemblies, including precision joint fit-up.
  • Operate modern fabrication equipment such as welding machines, pipe positioners, automated saws, and CNC pipe processing equipment.
  • Interpret detailed fabrication drawings, isometrics, and spool sheets to plan work accurately
  • Lay out, measure, cut, and assemble piping systems and mechanical components
  • Prepare pipe joints through beveling, cleaning, alignment, and fit-up
  • Perform TIG, MIG, stick welding, and brazing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
  • Operate advanced shop equipment, including welding machines, pipe positioners, automated saws, grinders, beveling tools, and CNC pipe cutting/profiling machines
  • Maintain strict quality standards and ensure all work meets fabrication tolerances and project specifications
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
