What is a pipe fitter mechanic?

Pipe fitter mechanics are skilled tradespeople who install, assemble, maintain, and repair piping systems that carry liquids, gases, and sometimes solids. They work in a variety of settings, such as industrial plants, construction sites, and commercial buildings. Their work involves reading blueprints, cutting and welding pipes, and ensuring systems are leak-free and meet safety standards. Pipe fitter mechanics may also test systems for proper operation and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
