Originally formed through Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Company, VMG brings decades of industry experience together with a forward-thinking approach to delivering high-quality mechanical solutions.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Pipefitter Helper to support our field teams on commercial mechanical construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to develop a career in the mechanical trades, and is ready to learn alongside experienced Pipefitters and field professionals.
What You'll Do
Support Piping Installation
  • Assist Pipefitters with the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of commercial piping systems
  • Help measure, cut, prepare, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools
  • Assist with the installation of pipes, valves, fittings, supports, and related components
  • Prepare pipe ends by grinding, cleaning, and applying sealants as required
  • Support the installation of heating, cooling, hydronic, and other mechanical piping systems
  • Assist with pressure testing and checking piping systems for leaks
Prepare Tools & Materials
  • Gather and prepare tools, materials, fittings, and equipment needed for daily work
  • Transport tools and materials safely throughout the jobsite
  • Assist experienced Pipefitters with material layout and preparation
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Keep work areas organized and free of unnecessary materials or hazards
Learn the Trade
  • Work alongside experienced Pipefitters to develop hands-on piping and mechanical skills
  • Learn to read and understand basic construction drawings, specifications, and measurements
  • Develop knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, tools, and installation methods
  • Follow instructions from Foremen, Pipefitters, and other field leadership
  • Build the skills necessary to advance into a Pipefitter or other skilled mechanical trade position
Work Safely
  • Follow VMG safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite-specific safety procedures
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Properly use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other jobsite equipment
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or potential hazards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
What You Bring
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
