Job Description Summary
Maintenance Techs II are responsible for disassembling, reassembling and replacing worn and broken parts on all mechanical equipment, this may also include installation of new equipment. All electrical duties must be under the direct supervision of a qualified Maintenance Journeyman or higher.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for facilities and equipment as scheduled and assigned.
  • Assist with maintenance on select plant production and packaging machinery and associated equipment.
  • Responsible for providing facility maintenance services.
  • Assist with diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Accurately completes all maintenance documentation, work orders and paperwork.
  • Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities. Uses effective approaches for choosing course of action and/or development of solutions.
  • Knows how and when to apply technical skills or procedures and performs complex tasks in area of expertise.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Safety, Environmental and Quality
    • Follows all safety rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
    • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to the job.
    • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
    • Follow all food safety procedures.
    • Maintains a sanitary and safe work area; performs housekeeping duties as necessary and/or required.
    • Detects potentially hazardous conditions and problems and takes appropriate action to report and/or correct.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in mechanical maintenance is required. Technical diploma or higher in electrical, mechanical, fabrication or other maintenance related field with at least 2 years work experience in a mechanical maintenance position is preferred.
    • Mechanical: rebuilding of equipment, gearing, general repair, and troubleshooting equipment, is preferred.
    • Fabrication: Some experience with sheet metal fabrication, to include welding, filing and machining where needed, is preferred.
    • Plumbing and Pipe Fitting: pipe fitting, water, gas and air, along with sanitary lines and valving, is preferred.
    • Refrigeration: refrigeration systems, ammonia and freezers, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read and work from drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental practices, including emergency procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with a maintenance work management system also required, preferably with SAP TEMPO.
  • Must be reliable, resourceful, and conscientious and be effective in written and verbal communications.
  • Must process good work habits and practice plant safety.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
  • Must provide own tools.
