Job description

The pipe foreman has to maintain a crew of employees. The foreman oversees the order, procedure and time management of each job and the employees duties. Pipe foreman will make sure that the process of  was successfully and safely done. 

Essential Functions of the position:
Must be able to sit or stand for multiple hours
Must be proficient with a computer and various software
Must be able to work long hours, weekends and at home or telecommute as needed to
complete work
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and be exposed to heat, rain, cold, wind, and
other weather activities
Must be able to walk long distances.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform manual labor including but not limited to raking, shoveling,
chopping, hammering etc.
Must be able to wear required PPE as per safety manual and OSHA regulations.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Aids in interviewing, hiring and training employees
Determines work priorities and coordinates work activities within the construction site;
apportions work among employees according to abilities or specialized training
Monitor and manage employee attendance, ensuring the timely arrival and participation of all
crew members, and notifying employees of rain days, prior to the start of the work.
Delegate tasks and accountabilities, instruct, supervise, lead and direct crew.
Lead and direct people, equipment and resources in the construction of projects.
Recommends employees for promotions, pay raises, and transfers.
Ensure sufficient deployment and productivity of work crews.
Engage in open commw1ication with the other Superintendents/Foremen and Project
Managers and report any issues which could affect the project plan.
Use survey equipment or GPS equipment to ensure proper grades.
Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, equipment
and utilize corrective action to keep the project on time and on budget.
Identify and execute best practices concerning the efficient use of construction materials.
Plan work in an efficient and effective order, maximizing progress in a safe and timely
manner.
Review and adhere to construction schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are
met.
Ensure company equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained and used effectively.
Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
Operate heavy equipment and other construction duties as necessary.
Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company's Code
of Ethics.
Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Ensure all new hires receive any on the job training required.
Liaise between the company and employees on a variety of employee related matters.
Wear all PPE as required per safety manual and OSHA regulations
Coordinates construction activities which involves scheduling meetings and reviewing project
documents (e.g., contracts, specifications, blueprints) as necessary
Keeps cost records on work performed and materials; is responsible for the control of costs in
materials and wages
Exercises control over rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project
within time limits; schedules jobs and operations
Estimates materials needed for specific jobs; estimates manpower needed for specific jobs
Acts as an adviser on job related problems
Deals with individuals demanding information or service such as Inspectors, Engineers and
Owners.
Fill out timesheets and daily logs and record hours for time worked of all employees under
your direct supervision
Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees,
sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
Review safe work plans/hazard assessments with crew prior to job commencement.
Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite,
and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or
endanger the wellbeing of others.
Wear all PPE as required per safety manual and OSHA regulations
To work under administrative supervision from the President, Vice President, Project
Manager, or other management to plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities per
the plans, specifications and details provided .
