Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) โ€“ Acute Care Nursing Services

No of Positions or Candidates Required: Up to 10 Providers

Specialty: Acute Care / Medical-Surgical Nursing Support

Place of Performance:ย Pine Ridge Service Unit (PRSU), Pine Ridge IHS Hospital, 607 Indian Health Road, Pine Ridge, SD 57770

Start Date:ย July 2026

Shift Schedule:

  • Day Shift: 0700 โ€“ 1930
  • Night Shift: 1900 โ€“ 0730
  • 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts as needed
  • Weekends and Holidays required
  • Shift rotation required based on staffing and patient load

How Many Shifts Needed Per Month:

  • Equivalent to 84 hours every two weeks
  • Seven (7) 12-hour shifts within a two-week period

License:

  • Current, unrestricted LPN license from any U.S. State, Territory, or District of Columbia
  • Must have passed NCLEX-PN

Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum 2 years of Acute Care / Medical-Surgical Nursing experience preferred

Special Skills Needed:

  • Experience supporting acute care and inpatient units
  • Medication administration skills
  • Patient observation and monitoring
  • Wound care and basic nursing procedures
  • Experience with EHR/RPMS documentation systems
  • Ability to assist during emergency situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with Native American patient populations

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care support under nursing scope of practice
  • Assist with patient assessments and daily care activities
  • Administer medications and treatments as assigned
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes appropriately
  • Maintain nursing documentation within EHR/RPMS systems
  • Assist with patient education and discharge instructions
  • Support infection control and patient safety initiatives
  • Assist during emergencies and resuscitation efforts
  • Participate in mandatory trainings and quality improvement activities
