How much do pim testing jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 8, 2026, the average hourly pay for pim testing in the United States is $25.17, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $20.67 and $30.29 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is PIM testing?

PIM testing stands for Passive Intermodulation testing, which is a process used to detect and measure intermodulation distortion in passive radio frequency (RF) components such as cables, connectors, and antennas. This type of testing is crucial in wireless communication systems because PIM can cause interference, reduce network performance, and degrade signal quality. By identifying sources of PIM, technicians can ensure that equipment meets industry standards and operates efficiently, preventing costly downtime and service issues.

What is the difference between Pim Testing vs QA Tester?

AspectPim TestingQA Tester
CertificationsISTQB, ISTQB AgileISTQB, CSTE, CSQA
Work EnvironmentProduct data management, e-commerce platformsSoftware applications, various industries
Industry UsageRetail, e-commerce, product info managementSoftware development, IT, manufacturing

While Pim Testing focuses on validating product information within e-commerce and retail platforms, QA Testers have a broader scope, testing software applications across multiple industries. Both roles require similar certifications but differ in their specific work environments and industry applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PIM Testing Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a PIM (Product Information Management) Testing Specialist, you need expertise in software testing methodologies, data management, and a strong understanding of PIM systems such as Informatica, Salsify, or Akeneo, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with automated testing tools, SQL, and experience with API testing are commonly required, along with certifications like ISTQB being advantageous. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are key soft skills for success in this role. These skills are crucial to ensure accurate, high-quality product data and seamless system integrations, which directly impact business efficiency and user experience.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in PIM Testing roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in PIM (Product Information Management) Testing often encounter challenges such as ensuring data consistency across multiple channels, verifying complex integration points with other systems (like ERP or e-commerce platforms), and managing frequent data updates. Overcoming these challenges typically involves collaborating closely with development and business teams, implementing rigorous test automation frameworks, and maintaining up-to-date test cases to reflect changing product requirements. Continuous learning about the latest PIM solutions and tools also helps testers stay effective and proactive in addressing new issues as they arise.
