Job description

Position Summary:

Accurately and efficiently hand load pens into blister trays that cycle frequently.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Properly load pens, using both hands, into moving blister trays as per determined by production run at an average rate of 50 pens per minute. Also, loads inserts into rack at front of machine.
  • Open pen boxes (bulk), and stage pen inner boxes on blister machine to be loaded.
  • Pack at the end of the blister machine. This requires the Packer to load blister cards from the conveyor belt into a chip box and load the chip box into a master carton.
  • Constantly inspect blistered product as it is being packed to ensure quality.
  • Follow the instructions of the Machine Operator.
  • When blister machine stops and during changeover’s, clean immediate work area, pick up pens, etc. Empty trash receptacle if needed around machine into designated trash bins. Load blister tables and open pen boxes.
  • Keep up to date with product codes and their descriptions, to ensure accuracy of finished product.
  • Build small cutout cardboard trays by hand.
  • Perform packer responsibilities in Display and Assembly departments, as needed.
  • Work extended shifts and/or weekends, when necessary, which in most cases would occur during the Back-to-School seasons.
Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma with up to one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills Required:

Speak and comprehend direction and feedback as articulated in English. Dexterity skills along with the ability to drop pens onto a moving conveyor system are required. Must be a team player, dependable, conscientious and detail oriented.
