Course Description
Pilots have unique mental and physical demands that are critical for their safety-sensitive roles in ensuring safety and passenger comfort. This course focuses on understanding these demands and ensuring compliance from a regulatory and an ethical standpoint. The physiology component focuses on general health with emphasis on altitude physiology, vision, hearing, medications, and fitness. The psychological component emphasizes aeronautical decision-making, risk management, sleep, and fatigue. Both are integrated into a discussion of the FAA medical certification process and pilot duties and responsibilities of compliance. Relevant experience should include Flight Instruction or Ground School Instruction of FAA License or Certification courses.
Method: This course is currently being taught on Mondays from 2:00PM to 4:50PM as an on-ground course at the Williston Campus.
