Position Title: Physical Therapist - Pilot - 1099
Department: Pilot Programs
Reports To: Director of Cardiac Sales, Three Rivers Region

Job Purpose
The Physical Therapist - Pilot - 1099 serves as a clinical subject matter expert supporting ROMTech pilot programs, research initiatives, and IRB-approved studies. This role partners with internal teams, physicians, hospitals, and health systems to develop and evaluate innovative rehabilitation strategies, provide clinical care within approved study protocols, and contribute to the advancement of ROMTech's Clinician guided at-home rehab model. The position supports the generation of clinical insights, outcome evaluation, and the development of novel approaches to rehabilitation delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Develop, implement, and refine clinical protocols for ROMTech pilot programs and IRB-approved studies.
  • Provide physical therapy services to participants enrolled in approved pilot programs and clinical studies in accordance with protocol requirements and professional standards of care.
  • Collaborate with research, clinical, and operational stakeholders to support study execution and outcome evaluation.
  • Monitor patient progress and assist with clinical outcome reporting and data quality initiatives.
  • Provide clinical expertise regarding rehabilitation protocols, patient engagement, and recovery pathways.
  • Evaluate and recommend innovative rehabilitation approaches for study populations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to healthcare reimbursement trends, billing methodologies, and potential coding applications when evaluating pilot concepts.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations with physicians, healthcare administrators, and executive leadership to communicate the clinical value of ROMTech solutions and pilot initiatives.
  • Support protocol compliance with applicable IRB requirements, HIPAA regulations, and professional practice standards.
  • Contribute clinical insights that support new service models, product innovation, and research initiatives.
Other Functions
  • Participate in pilot planning discussions and innovation-focused initiatives.
  • Provide feedback regarding program design, workflow optimization, and clinical adoption strategies.
  • Assist with preparation of clinical summaries, presentations, and study-related materials.
  • Performs other mutually agreed upon duties consistent with the applicable engagement or contract.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities
Required
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, rehabilitation protocols, and patient recovery pathways.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate clinical protocols and treatment methodologies.

Work Experience Requirements
Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical physical therapy experience.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or managing rehabilitation treatment plans.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
Preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in orthopedic, cardiovascular, or rehabilitation settings.
  • Prior research, pilot study, or clinical program development experience.
  • Experience collaborating with hospitals, health systems, or physician organizations.
Education Requirements
Required
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree required to perform licensed physical therapy services.
Preferred
  • Additional education or training in clinical research, healthcare administration, population health, or related disciplines.
License and Certification Requirements
Required
  • Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the jurisdiction(s) where services will be provided.
Preferred
  • Clinical research or specialty rehabilitation certifications.
  • Additional certifications related to orthopedics, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, or performance improvement.
