Department Summary
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity in our Hughes Network Systems division for a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer. This is a customer-facing engineering role that requires the ability to clearly translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes, while building credibility and trust with customers through successful pilot execution.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Engineering teams in customer discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution demonstrations
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise during customer engagements and pilot execution phases
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Engage directly with customers to build confidence and establish technical trust in proposed solutions through successful pilot delivery
  • Design, configure, and execute pilots, POCs, and technical evaluations in lab and customer environments
  • Validate solution performance, scalability, interoperability, and readiness for production deployment
  • Translate customer requirements into technical configurations and pilot success criteria
  • Perform hands-on implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of network environments (Enterprise Network design, security, LAN/WAN, routing, switching,)
  • Analyze network performance, identify and resolve issues, and optimize configurations based on testing and usage data
  • Document pilot architectures, configurations, test results, and deployment recommendations for transition to production
  • Execute test plans and provide structured analysis to support solution validation
  • Maintain and operate pre-production lab environments to support testing, demos, and validation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and solutions for applicability in customer environments
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on solution performance, gaps, and improvements

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in networking, telecommunications, or related technical roles

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working in customer-facing technical environments, including pilots, deployments, or solution validation
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN, SASE, Network security technologies , or Private Wireless technologies preferred
  • Experience working in lab environments, pilot deployments, and multi-vendor ecosystems
  • Ability to operate effectively in customer-facing roles, translating technical concepts into clear outcomes and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex network environments
  • Strong foundation in networking technologies (Enterprise Networking, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs)

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $100,500.00/Year - $134,000.00/Year
