Job description

Pipeline Pigging Operator
Are you ready to play a vital role in the safe and efficient transportation of liquids and gases? Join our team as a Pipeline Pigging Operator and become a key player in maintaining the integrity, safety, and reliability of critical pipeline operations. Based in Cuero, TX, this dynamic role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment and the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals in a supportive and safety-conscious environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain pipelines, stations, and associated equipment to ensure seamless flow and safety.
  • Perform start-up, shutdown, commissioning, decommissioning, isolation, purging, and line fill/pack/unpack activities.
  • Execute various pigging operations-including utility, batching, cleaning, and In-Line Inspection (ILI)-with thorough pre/post-run checks and pressure management.
  • Use SCADA systems and field instrumentation to monitor flow, pressure, volume, and quality; identify abnormal conditions and optimize operations.
  • Comply with DOT PHMSA pipeline safety regulations (49 CFR 192 & 195) and complete accurate, timely documentation of inspections, maintenance, patrols, and incident reports.
  • Support leak surveys, ROW patrols, facility inspections, and integrity management activities, identifying hazards and escalating issues using Stop Work Authority.
  • Locate pipelines accurately with approved line-locating equipment, GPS, and mapping tools while collaborating with teams to update GIS/as-built records.
  • Utilize SCADA interfaces and instrumentation for performance evaluation, alarm response, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, inspectors, engineers, and control room personnel, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Prioritize safety at all times, applying correct precautions based on product properties and participating in safety meetings, drills, and JSA's.

What We're Looking For:
  • Completed secondary education.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Field Technician, with permitting experience a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, P&IDs, stationing, contours, and one-lines.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control, measurement/LACT operations, or station equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pipeline safety, operations management, and emergency procedures.
  • Capable of supporting regulatory compliance and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong safety mindset.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with GIS mapping, line locating, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of project philosophies, design specifications, and commercial agreements.
  • Certifications or training related to pipeline safety, API standards, or specialized operating procedures.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in pipeline operations or related fieldwork.

Other Requirements:
  • Availability for Monday-Friday shifts, including potential call-outs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including line locating, equipment checks, and inspections.
  • Must hold active qualifications to perform operational tasks.
  • Willingness to support overtime, call-outs, and on-call duties as needed.
