Delivery Driver

Ideal Sushi Supply started in 2017 as the distribution wing of our affiliated Momiji Sushi Bar and Restaurants, which are located all around Oregon. Since then, we have branched out and now proudly serve a vast number of restaurants in our community. We recently moved into a new 20,000 sq ft warehouse to accommodate our growth. With this growth comes an opportunity to build our warehouse and driver team. We promote from within, offer competitive pay and advancement opportunities. The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and pickup of products for Momiji locations as well as external customers. This position ensures that all products are transported, handled, and stocked accurately while representing the company with professionalism and excellent customer service. Drivers must maintain an insurable driving record and possess the appropriate license for the vehicle operated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in loading, securing, and verifying outgoing orders for accuracy before departure.
  • Keep all products organized, protected, and separated for safe and efficient transport.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and compliance.
  • Deliver products to customer locations in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Unload, move, and stock customer products as requested, ensuring correct placement and rotation where or if applicable.
  • Handle products with care, following proper food, safety, and company handling protocols.
  • Perform quality checks on delivered items and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
  • Read and interpret purchase orders, invoices, and delivery manifests accurately.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and inventory databases as required.
  • Provide logistical support to sales or warehouse staff and assist with picker/packer duties as needed.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company driving and safety policies.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, addressing delivery-related questions and concerns promptly.
  • Represent Ideal Sushi Supply as a customer service ambassador, ensuring a positive experience through courteous communication, problem-solving, and attention to customer needs.
  • Assist team members and departments as needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Reports discrepancies in inventory such as items damaged in transportation

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of products being delivered, including proper packing and handling techniques.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or delivery driving preferred.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification upon hire).
  • Understanding of company structure and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and document data accurately.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.

Physical Requirements and Job Conditions

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently and 51โ€“100 lbs. occasionally using assistive devices such as dollies, carts, or pallet jacks.
  • Ability to maneuver loaded carts up and down thresholds, ramps, and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to enter and exit delivery vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Must be physically able to operate vehicles and warehouse equipment including trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and standard office tools.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, and reach with items weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or move around the warehouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in variable environments, including coolers, freezers, and warm weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit for long periods while operating a delivery vehicle and navigating routes.
