Job description

Donation Pickup Driver

Initiative: Beyond the Basics

Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

Location(s): Wallingford, CT

Hours: Fridays, 12:00-2:00pm or 3:00-6:00pm

Desired level of commitment: Once per week

Duration: Year-round

Age requirement: 18+

Tasks may include:

  • Picking up a large donation of food from Manchester or Vernon
  • Dropping off the donation to a food pantry in Wallingford
  • Lifting up 25-30-pound boxes

In order to volunteer, you should be:

  • A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you havenโ€™t already)
  • Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering
  • Willing to submit a background check
  • Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
  • Willing to use own vehicle with the capacity to hold 50 banana boxes (10"x16"x20")
