Job description

  • Program, test, and commission Level 1 control systems for new installations of Pickle Lines (Rolling Mill Equipment) and other applications in the metals industry.
  • Design and implementation of Level 1 control systems based on project requirements, SMS standards and similar reference projects
  • Perform Level 1 control system programming based on the function descriptions for the equipment related to the project
  • Collaborate with project management, mechanical, and Level 2 engineering teams
  • Participate in integration testing of the control system before shipment to the job site
  • Conduct on site commissioning and startup of Level 1 control systems for new plant installations
  • Train customer personnel in maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Service existing systems remotely and on-site interfacing with internal engineers and resources from other groups and locations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering role in metals or a similar industry
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience with Logicad and/or Siemens TIA Portal preferred
  • Pickle Line and/or Rolling Mill process knowledge preferred
  • Problem solving skills especially while under time pressure during commissioning.
