Warehouse Loader - Night Shift

Join our family-owned team at Diamond Pet Foods as a Warehouse Loader! This critical role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a steady-paced, quality and safety-focused environment. You will be instrumental in proficiently and accurately organizing and loading finished product orders, damage free, with forklifts and trailer spotting equipment. Duties may also include performing routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring consistent production and loading standards. Pay Rate:
$20.00 per hour
Plus $2.50 per hour night shift differential

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate ability to operate a propane sit-down forklift in a safe and proficient manner
  • Experience in equipment operation preferred, but not necessary
  • As directed and trained, perform the duties and functions of a warehouse loader by accurately organizing and loading product orders, damage free.
  • Understand and perform various loading procedures for domestic, foreign, and key account shipments.
  • Understand and perform trailer loading procedures, rough sides, holes, tires, etc.
  • Understand and perform all protocols for using/operating IFS scanners, filling out load sheets, weight tickets, etc....
  • ENSURE that only correct, damage-free product is loaded.
  • Maintain a First-In-First-Out finished product, inventory management system.
  • Work with and check truck drivers in and out of the facility in a professional, respectful, and efficient manner
  • Obtain load and weigh tickets for each outgoing shipment.
  • Stage mixed and partial pallets for upcoming shipments.
  • Perform daily inspections on loading dock equipment and trailer spotting equipment.
  • Maintain an orderly warehouse, including sweeping up debris.
  • Always keep workstation and surrounding area in a clean and safe manner
  • Maintain thorough and legible paperwork when filling out orders.
  • Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate production status to oncoming shift personnel.
  • Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
  • Work in a safe, professional manner at all times.
  • Report any accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
  • Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in all safety programs.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment screening (background check, drug screening, and physical).
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and easily get on and off forklifts.

Work Environment:
  • Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment and loud noise such as forklift horns and loose particles may be present.
  • Work performed requires employees to operate in various temperatures.
  • Work performed in this job requires employee to wear bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
    • Required safety items provided at company expense.
