Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active IL license and NRP certification for night shifts at a Level II trauma acute care facility.

Details
  • Work in the Alternative Birthing Center (LDRP) unit of an acute care hospital
  • Level II trauma facility with approximately 700 deliveries per year
  • Unit includes 12 LDRP rooms and 2 triage rooms
  • Follows AWHONN guidelines with 1:1 labor and 1:3 couplet patient ratios
  • Patient population includes vaginal and c-section labor, postpartum, and Level II nursery newborns
  • Uses Obix EFM system with Phillips monitors for fetal monitoring
  • CPAP used for Level II nursery patients with RT assistance for setup
  • Charge RN on each shift does not take a patient assignment
  • Support staff includes OB techs and unit secretaries
  • Neonatology provider in house 24/7
  • Uses EPIC EMR system
  • 12-hour night shifts, 7p-730a
  • Required to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
  • Required to work every other holiday
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Floating required hospital-wide as needed for tasking/team nursing model
  • 13-week assignment length
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
  • Skilled in labor and delivery required
  • Experience in all LDRP and nursery areas preferred
  • Negative drug screen required for all panels
Additional Information
  • Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery patients in an integrated LDRP model
  • Unit/department specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts depending on traveler experience
  • Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code
  • Local rates available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
  • No radius rule restricts eligibility for this position
