Job description

The person filling this position will be responsible for receiving materials from vendors, packing out lumber bays and loading customer vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and be comfortable with manual tasks. This role also floats as a ride along helper to our delivery drivers. They help maintain organized and efficient loading practices, and ensures a positive experience for customers during deliveries.

Job Specific Accountabilities:
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using manual and powered equipment.
  • Load and unload building materials doors, windows, flooring, moulding, etc.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Accompany drivers on scheduled delivery routes and assist with navigating delivery locations
  • Perform inventory counts and report discrepancies.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Assist with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Inspect materials for visible damage prior to delivery
  • Assist with maintaining clean and organized delivery trucks and work areas
  • Follow all company safety policies and proper lifting procedures
  • Communicate delivery issues, damages or customer concerns promptly to management
  • Support warehouse operations when not assigned to deliveries
  • Assist with verifying paperwork and delivery documentation as required
  • Work collaboratively with store, warehouse and driver to maintain efficient operations
  • Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous delivery experience
  • Ability to safely lift, carry and move heavy materials throughout the workday
  • Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
