Job description

Respiratory Therapist

Location: Waimea, Hawaii
Pay Rate: $65.00–$70.00/hr
Contract: 13 Weeks
Experience: Minimum 5 Years Required

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Waimea, HI. This role supports respiratory care services in a hospital setting and requires strong independent clinical judgment when caring for adult, pediatric, neonatal, and critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy treatments based on physician orders
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage ventilator support and life support systems
  • Perform arterial punctures and support blood gas analysis
  • Assist with CPR, airway management, and emergency respiratory care
  • Administer nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, and chest physiotherapy
  • Perform pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, patient education, and equipment checks
  • Support infection control, documentation, and safe respiratory equipment use

Requirements

  • Active Hawaii Respiratory Therapist license required
  • RRT or CRT credential required
  • BLS/BCLS certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Experience with critically ill, pediatric, and neonatal patients preferred
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Must be flexible with shifts, weekends, evenings, holidays, and call as needed
  • Traveler must research housing before applying
