Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Physics and Astronomy department on the Dahlonega campus.
Responsibilities
  • Perform fluid dynamics experiments under direction of faculty member.
  • May involve mixing of samples, imaging optics, cameras, analysis of data, programming in MATLAB, reading and understanding of journal articles, and analysis and interpretation, and writing and presentation of results.
  • Running of computational code may be necessary and analysis of results.
  • May also include lab cleaning/organization.
  • May also include the use of tools.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Familiarity with introductory physics and experience with physics and/or chemistry labs.
  • Ability to mix fluids samples.
  • Ability to use cameras and computer imaging or willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • Some familiarity with MATLAB or similar programming language preferred.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
