Powered by two trusted global brands, Shark and Ninja, the company has a proven track record of bringing disruptive innovation to market. Developing one consumer product after another has allowed SharkNinja to enter multiple product categories, driving significant growth and market share gains. Headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts, our products are sold at key retailers - online and offline - and through distributors around the world.

User Experience Design at SharkNinja

We work hard to give our consumers high-quality, innovative, delightful products. We're passionate about user experience, and we're looking for creative designers who think outside the box, embrace the latest technology, advocate for our customers, and push the boundary of what's possible. Join us in shaping the future of SharkNinja product experiences.

The Role

This is where physical product meets user experience. As Designer, UX - Hardware, you'll design on-device UI and interaction flows with a relentless focus on the customer - working with industrial design, product, and engineering across the full process, from product concepts through prototyping, testing, tooling, engineering builds, and launch.

You'll also drive process improvements in hardware UX design - for new products and for extending existing products into new markets - using cutting-edge technologies to improve both how we work and what we make.

We're looking for someone talented and enthusiastic to join our growing team and deliver compelling, easy, delightful experiences for our hardware products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end user experience, interaction model, and on-product interfaces for a range of new hardware products - physical UI, displays, affordances, and feedback (haptic, audio, visual).
  • Partner with industrial design on UI placement, control feel, labeling, and ergonomics - consistently advocating for the user when manufacturing and cost pressure push the other way.
  • Work through hardware and technology constraints with colleagues in product and engineering to deliver experiences that are feasible, desirable, and viable.
  • Build and run usability testing on physical prototypes, turning findings into impactful, achievable design changes.
  • Document UI layouts, interaction specs, state diagrams, and UI asset packages that firmware and engineering teams can build from without ambiguity.
  • Explore and implement process improvements in how we design and document hardware projects, using AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to a shared hardware UX design system - interaction patterns, iconography, terminology, and display standards that scale across the portfolio.
Attributes & Skills
  • 3+ years designing user experiences for physical products.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing relevant hardware UX design work.
  • Fluency designing inside hard constraints: display resolution and color depth, physical button counts, BOM cost, certification requirements, tooling timelines.
  • Hands-on usability research with physical prototypes - and the judgment to know when a finding warrants a design change.
  • Proven collaboration across design, product, and engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; working familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Rhino preferred.
  • Demonstrated fluency and enthusiasm with AI tools for concept exploration, asset production, process improvement, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in UI/UX Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
