This is a specialist role focused on system hardware, applicationโ€‘level configuration, and dayโ€‘toโ€‘day technical problem solving.
In addition to handsโ€‘on system work, you'll support smallโ€‘toโ€‘medium technical security projects, coordinate with vendors and integrators, and communicate progress and issues to stakeholders. You'll work closely with senior team members on larger deployments while owning the reliability and performance of the systems in your area of responsibility. A working knowledge of IP networking is essential, as these systems are networkโ€‘dependent.

  • Diagnose and resolve system, hardware, and networkโ€‘related issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Support the deployment, commissioning, and upgrade of technical security systems across sites.
  • Coordinate with vendors and integrators on installations, service calls, warranty issues, and system upgrades.
  • Assist in managing smallโ€‘toโ€‘medium technical security projects, including scheduling, tracking tasks, and reporting status to stakeholders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and health checks to ensure system uptime and reliability.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking components supporting security systems (IP addressing, VLANs, switches, PoE, basic firewall/port configuration- in collaboration with Network Engineering teams).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, asโ€‘builts, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate device inventory and hardware/spares stock for supported sites.
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, system issues, and resolutions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of handsโ€‘on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting physical access control and/or video surveillance systems.
  • Extensive experience with Genetec Security Center.
  • Certification in Omnicast and Synergis.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, cabling, and lowโ€‘voltage systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with vendors and integrators on installations and service.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to update stakeholders on technical work and project status.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problemโ€‘solving mindset.
  • Familiarity with lowโ€‘voltage cabling standards and structured cabling best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience in technical security systems, with a strong focus on access control, and intrusion detection.
  • Experience supporting technical security systems across multiple or global sites.
