Job description

As a Mid-Level Physical Security Specialist supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO), you will provide critical physical security support to a Department of Defense customer located on-site in Arlington, Virginia. In this role, you will help protect personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, and information while supporting the operational readiness and mission success of one of the nation's most important defense programs. Bring your security experience, organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence to support physical security documentation, facility access processes, inspections, accreditation activities, emergency planning, and mission protection efforts. Working closely with government and contractor personnel, you will contribute to maintaining compliance with Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security requirements while helping safeguard mission-critical resources. In This Role, You Will: • Support physical security activities, including facility security documentation, access coordination, records management, and action tracking. • Assist with maintaining physical security files, trackers, reports, and related documentation. • Coordinate with government and contractor personnel to support timely completion of physical security actions. • Support meeting preparation, reporting, briefings, inspections, data calls, and suspense tracking. • Review security-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. • Help identify process improvements and support disciplined execution of recurring physical security requirements. • Provide management and oversight support for activities designed to prevent unauthorized access to personnel, equipment, materials, and information and safeguard them from espionage, sabotage, terrorism, damage, and criminal activity. • Provide guidance and documentation to facilitate Department of Defense and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) compliance. • Maintain and update the Occupant Emergency Plan, Criticality Assessment, Program Evacuation Plan, and security portions of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). • Support secure area accreditation activities from pre-construction through de-accreditation. • Maintain and track F-35 JPO-sponsored facility accreditation letters. • Complete and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists and assist with annual facility inspections. • Coordinate with appropriate offices regarding construction projects and facility alterations. • Participate in pre-construction meetings and document outcomes. • Monitor and document construction progress and security-related activities. • Coordinate and maintain the Antiterrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) Plan. • Manage, track, and provide required ATFP training for F-35 JPO personnel. • Provide alarm response support and situation-dictated response actions. • Schedule alarm maintenance and coordinate semi-annual alarm testing. • Manage facility key issuance, inventory, and maintenance processes. • Manage and support security container availability and requirements. • Monitor, administer, and maintain badge control systems. • Change, issue, and manage combinations on doors and security containers. To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have: • U.S. Citizenship. • Active Top Secret Security Clearance. • Bachelor's Degree. • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience. • Experience supporting physical security, facility security, access control, inspections, or related Department of Defense security functions. • Ability to obtain and maintain Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one year of hire. • Strong customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work on-site in Arlington, Virginia, Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications, and Clearance • Prior experience working in a secure facility. • Experience working in a Security Countermeasures environment. • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility or active TS/SCI access preferred. • Experience supporting security operations within classified or Special Access Program (SAP) environments preferred. • Experience supporting Department of Defense physical security programs, facility accreditation, inspections, and access control activities. Desired Skills • Experience supporting administrative processes and document management within a secure environment. • Ability to work effectively with government and contractor personnel. • Experience preparing reports, briefings, presentations, and tracking spreadsheets. • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of physical security regulations, facility accreditation processes, and access control procedures. Travel Requirement • Up to 10% travel may be required.
