As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Highland Rivers, you will engage in various therapeutic activities, spending your day actively involved in:

• Facilitating group therapy sessions, where you will guide discussions, foster a supportive atmosphere, and encourage clients to share their experiences and learnings with one another.
• Providing individual therapy tailored to the unique needs of each client, helping them navigate their thoughts and feelings through empathetic and effective counseling techniques.
• Collaborating with clients to design individualized treatment plans that set meaningful, achievable goals, and address their mental health needs.
• Monitoring client progress by utilizing various assessment tools, ensuring that clients are moving toward their objectives and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Working cohesively with other multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, and mental health professionals, to coordinate care and deliver optimal outcomes for our clients.

Your primary focus will be on young adults aged 18 to 30 who may be dealing with a range of mental health challenges. These include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and other emotional struggles. Your engagement will be crucial in inspiring hope and promoting recovery in this vulnerable demographic, empowering them to overcome obstacles and thrive.

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Valid Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential in Texas.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in mental health treatment, particularly with young adults or adolescents.

While not required, experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing will be advantageous. Familiarity with PHP programming for young adults can further enhance your contributions to our treatment team.
